Automatic Mechanical Gap Filler (MGF) – A Smart Choice for Safe Boarding and Alighting

The MGF is an essential safety system designed to prevent passenger accidents caused by unavoidable gaps between train doors and station platforms.
Its installation improves accessibility for transportation-vulnerable passengers while ensuring overall passenger safety and stable train operations.

• The structure, basic configuration, and operating principle are as follows:

Designed for installation on the platform’s shear plane and lower sections (foldable attachment type), allowing application at any station regardless of whether platform screen doors are installed.

Train Motion Detection and Interlocked Control of MGF

Sensors automatically detect train arrival.
The filler plate automatically unfolds upon train arrival and folds before train departure to prevent interference with the moving train.
The filler plate contarol is interlocked with the train motion detection algorithms to ensure reliable unfold/fold operation of the plate.

High-Precision Sensor System

Obstacle detection sensors (load cells) detect the presence of passengers or objects on the filler plate when lowering the filler plate.
The system automatically stops operation and generates warning alerts when abnormal conditions are detected.

Modular Control System

The control module is standardized to facilitate easy maintenance and replacement.
Independent control of each step allows partial operation in the event of a malfunction.

Highly Reliable Electrical & Electronic Control

Redundancy and safety design prevents operation malfunctions.
An integrated safety system automatically detects control signal errors and performs an emergency stop.
